Centre of the Earth - Snaefellsjokull glacier

Reykjavík departures

In a "Journey to the Centre of the Earth", French writer Jules Verne described the Snæfellsjökull glacier as being the gateway to the centre of the earth.

The writer wasn´t purely fictional, as the Snaefellsnes Glacier is widely believed to be a place of mystic supernatural powers and might, as well as an extraterrestrial landing spot, greeting aliens from afar....

Located at the tip of the beautiful Snæfellsnes peninsula, the glacier is a real Icelandic landmark.  The peninsula itself is dotted with beautiful spots and hideaways, as well as small fishing villages, like Stykkisholmur and Grundarfjordur.   A real value tour to see the essence of Iceland in under two hours.
