South Iceland Ultimate: Geysir, Gullfoss, Eyjafjallajokull and Skogafoss...

Reykjavík departures

After take off in Reykjavik we set a south-easterly course towards Skogafoss, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the country.  Skogafoss waterfall has a width of 25 metres (82 feet) and a drop of 60 m (200 ft). Due to the amount of spray the waterfall consistently produces, a single or double rainbow is normally visible on sunny days. According to legend, the first Viking settler in the area, Þrasi Þórólfsson, buried a treasure in a cave behind the waterfall.

En-route we´ll fly over Gullfoss and Geysir, as well as Thorsmork and Eyjafjallajokull.  Shortly before touchdown at Skogafoss, we´ll fly over the magnificent Seljalandsfoss waterfall.

Depending on conditions on the day of your flight, we´ll advise whether we land first at Skogafoss and then look at the other waterfalls, or do it in reverse order.

Landing at Skogafoss sand-runway for refreshments
