Akureyri departures

The Diamond Circle Air Tour takes you on an epic scenic flight over waterfalls, lava, craters and lake Myvatn´s spectacular scenery.

Fly through the landscape of The Game of Thrones, Oblivion and Prometheus, filmed in this dramatic landscape.

The Diamond Circle tour starts by exploring Godafoss literally the waterfall of the gods. Next up is Lake Mývatn, with its numerous scenic attractions and geothermal phenomena, pseudo craters, sulfur pools and the geothermal electric powerplant of Krafla, with its deepest hole reaching two kilometers into the earth´s crust. From Krafla we fly into Vatnajökull National Park to see Europes' most powerful waterfall, Dettifoss, a spectacular waterfall with cascades plunging from a height of 144 feet (44 meters) into a narrow canyon.

From Dettifoss waterfall we follow the magnificent canyon Jokulsargljufur, before turning homeward bound for Akureyri, overflying the Theystareykjar lava field and geothermal area, with sinkholes Little Hell and Big Hell. Relax and take in the Troll Peninsula mountain range coming into view in the west.

On the last leg of our Diamond Circle tour we descent into Eyjafjordur where there is a great chance of whale watching on the approach into Akureyri Airport.

There are many great ways to experience Iceland, but none is more unique than exploring Iceland by air.

This tour is an unforgettable experience.
